Tutorial: Sudoku

How to Play:

  1. The goal is to fill every empty cell with a number from 1–9.
  2. Each row must contain the numbers 1–9 exactly once.
  3. Each column must contain the numbers 1–9 exactly once.
  4. Each 3×3 box (shown by thicker lines) must contain the numbers 1–9 exactly once.
  5. Tap an empty cell to select it.
  6. Choose a number from the keypad that doesn't already appear in that row, column, or box.
  7. Use logic and elimination to narrow down possibilities.
  8. When a cell can only be one number, that's a 'naked single'—place it!
  9. Complete the entire grid to win.

Pro Tips:

  • Start with rows, columns, or boxes that already have 6+ numbers.
  • Look for numbers that can only go in one place within a box.
  • Cross-reference: if a number is blocked in a row at certain positions, it must go elsewhere.
  • Check the same number across different boxes—they might eliminate each other.
