Tutorial: Nonogram

How to Play:

  1. Each row and column has number clues indicating consecutive runs of filled cells.
  2. For example, '3 1' means three filled cells, then a gap, then one filled cell.
  3. A clue of '5' in a 5-cell row means all cells are filled. A clue of '0' means all are empty.
  4. Tap a cell to mark it filled (■). Tap again to mark it empty (×). Tap again to clear the mark.
  5. Use the toolbar to switch between Fill, Cross (mark empty), and Erase modes.
  6. When all cells are correctly marked, the puzzle is complete and reveals a picture.

Pro Tips:

  • Start with rows or columns that have large numbers or are nearly full.
  • A clue that fills most of the line can be partially solved — mark the cells that must be filled regardless of position.
  • Work back and forth between rows and columns — solving one helps narrow down the other.
  • When a line has only one possible arrangement, fill it in completely.
